Personality walk: progress (arms)

Progress update. Breakdowns on the legs and I now have the arms moving in the right way just need a bit of tweaking.

I think the timing of this is too slow but I'm going to animate the upper body like this and see if it affects the feeling of slow movement in the lower body. Then I will work on shortening it down.

Personality Walk: Blocked out steps

Blocked out the first two steps of the animation and now working into  further keys and breakdowns in the legs. Them i'm going to get to work on the upper body and the hand holding his leg. Hopefully get the personality walk looking and flowing nicely after a lot of testing, research and trial and error.

Acting out a limp for my personality walk. Having problems with the right leg having a limp so this has really helped. The right leg is straight with the upperbody like a a pinwheel is attached through the hip and onto the other leg.

Major help after struggling with my personality walk. I will be usign the contact poses and motion from this video in particular rather than the green screen footage (i willl upload soon).

Pleased to see...

With this pleased to see pose i decided to use two character reacting together. I have the character on the left in quite a wide laid back stance with open arms as if to say 'Come here you' and a soft pleased smile on his face. Yet his friend on the right is extatic! upright leant forward posture and arms straight in the air as well as a big grin on his face.

What's under there...

Trying to make his face like 'what the...'?! i went with a slightly dropped draw to make him look slightly shocked. And the eyebrow raised and squinted eye focuses his eyesight on his foot like he's inspecting it but pulled away slightly after seeing what 'it' is.

Late for...

Used the Moom rig for this pose. He is waiting for the bus to pick him up and is concerned about being late for his job interview as the bus hasn't arrived on time and is a few minutes late so far. I was trying to make him look really concerned about the timeand slightly nervous and scared.

I think the mouth could be shut a bit more as he looks more shocke and worried rather than nervous at the moment.

Pose Concepts

3 pose concepts for key posing. I think the one that works best on 'Whats under there' is the looking on the sole of his foot action. It has a lot of fexibility with the facial reaction and a strong silhoutte.

For the 'Pleased to see' I am going to go with the two character scenario. As you can really change each of there reactions interacting so you have a great idea of a strong relationship between them.

In the 'Late for' pose concepts I like the two lower ones but i think the waiting for the bus one is more challenging so i am going to go for that one. making him look more worried than nervous is key and gettign a good silhoutte will be a challenge.

Ball and Box

My ball and box animation. I think i would like to try a few more of these with different scenarios once i have gained more knowledge and confidence in Maya.
